HOW TO CREATE FLOWER DECORATIONS FOR YOUR CAKES.
These three tricks will make your pastries stand out!
DRIED ROSE PETALS:
Ingredients:
Fresh Rose Petals
Egg Whites
Granulated Sugar
Tools
Baking Sheet
Parchment Paper (x 2)
Small Bowl
Fork
Brush
Preparation:
Line a baking sheet with one piece of parchment paper and set aside
Using the next piece of parchment paper, place the petals on top, leaving space between each one
In a small bowl, add the egg white and gently froth with a fork
Dip a brush into the egg whites and brush a thin layer onto each rose petal
Sprinkle each petal with the desired amount of sugar
Gently place each sugared petal onto the parchment lined baking sheet and allow them to dry for at least 2 hours at room temperature
Decorate your pastries accordingly, but make sure to not allow people to eat them. I love placing them on top of cupcakes and cakes for a little extra sparkle
FLOWER ARRANGEMENTS:
Many cake decorators love using flowers to create incredible works of art. While this may seem like a difficult task, these recommendations can make all the difference when putting together your masterpiece.
Before you begin:
Ensure flowers are edible and free of preservatives and pesticides
Wash your flowers under water and allow to dry
Cut the stems to your desired length and prune any dead parts
Floral tape:
This is the most common option used when placing flowers on cakes. Gently use the tape to cover the part of the stem that will touch the cake. You can purchase different colors and sizes of tape to match the flowers stems as well.

Mini Vials:
Another way to keep your flowers vibrant while also protecting them from touching the cake is to use mini water tube vials. These vials ensure minimal damage occurs when placed inside the cake and offer the added benefit of water, which allows you to save the flowers for another use.
